Napoleonschuur

Tobacco was grown on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug until the mid-20th century. The Napoleon Barn was built as a tobacco weigh house, where tobacco was traded. Soon after its completion, the barn was used to billet French soldiers. Above the entrance stands a plaque depicting Napoleon I, 1806. The ground floor of the venue is available for meetings, dinners, weddings, parties, and cultural events. Rental prices for cultural activities are customized. Opportunities are offered to young, lesser-known artists, musicians, comedians, etc., making it possible to launch a program at a reasonable price. In 2018, the barn was restored, and the first floor was transformed into five designer hotel rooms and a library, overlooking the park and just a stone's throw from Amerongen Castle, the church, and the Tobacco Growing Museum.
